Which passepartout and frame do I need for my poster?

Choose the passepartout with a window in the size of your poster, then the frame in the outer size of the passepartout.

  1. Choose your poster size, for example 50x70 cm.

  2. Choose the passepartout with a window in the same size as your poster, for example "70x100 cm (window 50x70 cm)".

  3. Choose the frame in the outer size of the passepartout, for example 70x100 cm.

Examples:

Your poster

Passepartout

Frame

21x30 cm

30x40 cm (window 21x30 cm)

30x40 cm

30x40 cm

40x50 cm (window 30x40 cm)

40x50 cm

50x70 cm

70x100 cm (window 50x70 cm)

70x100 cm

Because a passepartout needs a bigger frame than the poster, a poster with a passepartout always goes in a frame one size up. Without a passepartout, the frame has the same size as the poster. For example, a 50x70 cm poster fits a 50x70 cm frame.

Good to know

  • Poster sizes always refer to the size of the paper.

  • The size of a frame is the size of the print it fits.

  • If a size is not available for the frame or passepartout you want, that combination is not sold.
